The Lightning Path is a sequential planet gong meditation based on the Tree of Life, transmitting the divine to the earthly, to bridge the above and the below.
Planet gongs are distinctive in that they feature a strong fundamental note tuned to represent a natural harmonic series based on the orbital properties of the Sun, the Earth, the Moon and other planets in the Solar System, as calculated by the Swiss mathematician and musicologist Hans Cousto, author of 'The Cosmic Octave'. The system of measurement Cousto devised makes it possible to transpose the movements of the planets into audible rhythms, musical notes and colour.
Each gong is tuned to the natural frequency of that planet, resonating in harmony with the celestial bodies - the 'Music of the Spheres'.
The planet gongs not only attune us with the cosmic tones, but can also strike a resonance deep within us, draw forth our own music and give us a connection between our inner world and the larger world. A meditation with the planetary gongs offers us a moment to experience a greater sense of place in the cosmic scheme… which is at its core a harmonic and musical universe.
When 11 planet gongs are sounded in the sequence Earth, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, we can ascend up the Lightning Path, returning to inspirational Source. Then in reverse sequence Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Earth, we can materialise reality from vision, descending the Tone Tree Of Life, from Source to Earth.
